The Diploma in Business Administration (MQA/FA 4389) is a 2-year, industry-anchored qualification that prepares you to step confidently into the commercial world — or into Year 2 of a Sunway University bachelor's degree. It is one of Sunway College's most established programmes, with over 15,000 alumni now working across multinationals, start-ups, and family enterprises throughout Asia-Pacific.
The curriculum is structured around four pillars — strategy, finance, people, and digital — and is delivered through case teaching, live consulting projects with Sunway Group subsidiaries (Sunway Pyramid, Sunway Medical, Sunway Property), and a compulsory 12-week industry internship in Semester 5. Students graduate with both a recognised qualification and a portfolio of real business deliverables.
Graduates earn a Level 4 Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF) qualification and articulate directly into Year 2 of degrees at Sunway University, Lancaster University (UK), or over 30 partner universities in Australia, the UK, and New Zealand — saving one full year of tuition.
You will need a minimum of 3 credits in SPM (including a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and English) or equivalent — 3 Bs in UEC, 3 C6 in O-Level, or passes in a relevant Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3. IELTS 5.5 or equivalent is required for international students. Mature students (21+) without these qualifications may be admitted via APEL.A assessment.
Graduates with a CGPA of 2.50 or above articulate directly into Year 2 of the BSc (Hons) in Business Management, BSc (Hons) in International Business, BSc (Hons) in Marketing, or BSc (Hons) in Human Resource Management at Sunway University. This is guaranteed — no additional entrance test is required. The credit transfer agreement saves one full academic year (~RM 32,000).
The 90-credit curriculum covers Principles of Management, Business Accounting, Business Statistics, Marketing Fundamentals, Microeconomics & Macroeconomics, Organisational Behaviour, Business Law, Entrepreneurship, Digital Business, Financial Management, Strategic Management, and Research Methods. Students also complete an industry internship and a capstone consulting project.
Yes. All students complete a 12-week paid industry internship in Semester 5. Sunway's Industry Partnership Office places students with over 400 host companies including Maybank, KPMG, AirAsia, Sunway Group, Nestlé, Shopee, and Grab. Internship performance counts for 15% of the final CGPA.
Approximately 40% of our graduates articulate directly into degree programmes. The remaining 60% enter the workforce in roles such as Business Executive, Management Trainee, Marketing Coordinator, HR Associate, Operations Analyst, or Junior Consultant — with average starting salaries of RM 2,800–RM 3,500 per month in Klang Valley (2025 data).
Yes. The Jeffrey Cheah Foundation awards up to 100% tuition waivers to students scoring 8A+ in SPM. Sunway Group Merit Scholarships cover 25–75% of fees based on SPM results. PTPTN loans are available for Malaysian citizens, and monthly instalment plans are offered through Maybank and CIMB partnerships.
